Henan: Henan introduced animal H7N9 bird flu surveillance program selected 448 sites

Henan Channel on September 3, Henan Daily reported: (reporter Lu Song) On September 2, the reporter learned from the provincial animal husbandry Bureau that Henan Province introduced the second half of the animal H7N9 bird flu monitoring program, will be selected from the scale of poultry farms and slaughterhouses such as 448 sites, all live poultry wholesale markets, Huanghetan wetland (Zhengzhou, Kaifeng) and other wild bird habitat monitoring, strict animal H7N9 bird flu prevention and control work.

The monitoring plan proposes that the monitoring scope mainly includes the monitoring of live poultry wholesale markets, live poultry trading stalls in farmers' markets, large-scale poultry farms, free-range households, poultry slaughterhouses, migratory bird habitats and environmental samples from the above sites. The monitoring targets are chickens, waterfowl (ducks, geese) and hand-raised pigeons, quail, etc., wild birds, and the environment of monitoring sites in relevant high-risk areas.
