In 2013, the provincial Veterinary Medicine (animal protection) Association responsible person symposium was held in Jinan

On July 29, the China Veterinary Medicine Association held a symposium for the 2013 provincial Veterinary medicine (animal protection) Association in Jinan, Shandong Province, to discuss how to further play the role of industry associations, strengthen the integrity and self-discipline of veterinary drugs, carry out science popularization activities for safe drug use in aquaculture, and promote the healthy development of the aquaculture industry. Yu Kangzhen, Vice Minister of Agriculture and President of China Veterinary Medicine Association, attended the meeting and made an important speech.

Yu Kangzhen pointed out that the quality of veterinary drugs is related to the safety of breeding, the effectiveness of disease prevention and control and the safety of animal products, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of veterinary drugs, quality control, and establishing a good order of the veterinary drug market is the common responsibility of the government and industry associations. In recent years, centering on the goal of "two efforts to ensure", the Ministry has carried out veterinary drug safety supervision, strengthened the follow-up supervision of veterinary drug GMP, and fully implemented the GSP system of veterinary drugs. Strengthening the supervision and sampling of veterinary drugs, increasing the investigation and punishment of illegal cases, has achieved positive results, and the quality of veterinary drugs has been significantly improved.

Yu Kangzhen stressed that the current quality of veterinary drugs and problems existing in the veterinary drug industry have caused concern in society, and we should pay great attention to them. Yu Kangzhen required that in the next step, the association should carry out targeted research activities on issues with high social attention, large risks and hidden dangers, and major impacts, find and analyze problems, and put forward targeted and operable suggestions to the competent authorities of the industry. The association should strengthen the publicity of animal breeding knowledge and the veterinary drug industry, strengthen the publicity and popularization of scientific breeding and safe drug use knowledge, further enhance the social awareness of the veterinary drug industry, and improve the scientific literacy of practitioners in healthy breeding and rational drug use. At the same time, we should actively carry out the integrity and self-discipline activities of veterinary drug production enterprises and improve the awareness of quality responsibility of enterprises. It is necessary to strengthen the sense of responsibility and mission, carry out various work solidly, give full play to the role of the association as a bridge and link, effectively serve the members and the industry, and be a good adviser and assistant to the government. At the same time, the association should strengthen learning exchanges, strengthen self-construction, and constantly improve the service capacity of the industry.

The meeting was attended by the heads of 18 provincial veterinary medicine (animal protection) associations such as China Veterinary Medicine Association and Beijing. Representatives of four provincial associations, including Shandong, Shanghai, Anhui and Jiangxi, made typical speeches at the meeting. The meeting focused on giving play to the role of industry associations, serving society, serving enterprises, carrying out enterprise self-discipline, establishing industry integrity system and doing key work in 2013.
